Distribution Manager

SUMMARY OF POSITION

The Distribution Manager manages the operations Shipping and Distribution teams at our North Ridgeville, OH facility. These teams work closely with our sales, customer service and leadership teams to meet customer requirements and ship dates, along with managing the Distribution / Shipping budgets. Position is on-site at our North Ridgeville, Ohio facility.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties as assigned)

• Provides leadership, work direction, and supervision to Distribution and Shipping teams 

• Ensures shipping windows and customer requirements on labeling, packaging and compliance are being met

• Creates and implements process improvements for the team

• Measures and communicates targets through both daily reporting, and weekly/ monthly KPIs

• Troubleshoots any IT or SAP related issues facing the team

• Provides training, coaching, and discipline to team members as necessary

• Works closely with Receiving, Inventory and Transportation teams to ensure stock is available to meet ship windows and is planned accordingly

• Enforces policies and work rules in a fair and consistent manner

• Implements documented corrective action for any issues that arise

• Provide financial projections and challenges to leadership team

• Responsible for distributing Raw Materials to other Riddell locations in North America

• Reviews and investigates customer charge-backs. Communicates and corrects errors to stop recurring charges

• Supports and ensures a safe working environment

• Promotes a team environment that provides challenges, optimizes performance, and supports success

• Understands the functional aspects and data management tools of SAP necessary to operate at all levels within area of responsibility    

• Day-to-day supervision of supervirsory team in accordance with company policies and procedures and applicable laws

• Responsible for improving processes, reducing costs, and monitoring quality improvements

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Authorized to work in the U.S.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Management related field or an equivalent combination of education, training, and related experience required 

• Six (6) to eight (8) years of experience in inventory control, distribution, shipping/receiving or a materials management  function required

• Experience servicing Big Box Retail Stores and Distribution Centers preferred

• Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures

• Strong computer skills using Microsoft Office, primarily Excel

• Experience using SAP or similar order / inventory management system

• Working knowledge of warehouse operations including inventory transactions, cycle counts, and material movement order fillment
