The Sr. SAP PP/VC Analyst serves as both a new project implementation leader and a support person for Variant Products and production planning problems and questions. The Sr. PP/VC Analyst is expected to support a stable system environment for BRG Sports SAP and its integrated platforms. He/She will be required to support all related business projects and members of the IT team responsible for the implementation of all new business processes, products, and project implementations. Position is located in Irving, TX. Please note: VC experience is required.

The Sr. SAP PP/VC Analyst must know how to leverage SAP to support best practices with a proven understanding of process integration within SD, MM, PP, PM, WH, FI and CO areas. This position will be required to work on assignments that are complex in nature where considerable judgment and initiative are required in resolving problems and making recommendations to improve BRG’s business processes.

  • Overall solution ownership and project execution responsibility for Variant Products, Production Planning, with a strong focus on Variant Configurator.   Some knowledge of CO Product Costing functionality is beneficial.
  • Strong experience in Configuration and support of VC (Variant Configuration) product environment. VC experience of building complex products and maintaining the complex products with rules
  • Should have a strong knowledge in VC components (Characteristics, Classes, Configuration Profiles and Dependency rules)
  • Design and maintenance of SAP VC models, object dependencies, variant tables, classification hierarchies, material masters, bill of materials, routings, and variant conditions for pricing and purchasing in the SAP system for sales and production data of complex manufacturing products
  • Build Bill of Material (BOM) and Routings to support Variant Configurations in SAP System. Write complex object dependencies in BOM’s such as selection conditions (using variant tables as necessary), work with class items, writing dependencies for routings and operations
  • The position will interface and work closely with Product Management/Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing and Logistics, to build a series of SAP based configuration files required to support the growing business
  • Experience in building the configurable products and if possible integrating use of those products with web commerce solutions
  • Support the implementation of all new business functions and processes for BRG
  • Support the daily business requirements and/or initiatives at BRG
  • Work with IT team across all functional teams using a collaborative approach to build and support best practice solutions to support BRG
  • Work with business counterparts to assess requirements and deliver solutions that are enabling capabilities to support IT strategy and overall BRG’s business objectives
  • Configure and support PP – Discrete and Continuous Manufacturing   
  • Experience with Make-to-Stock and Make-to-Order processes
  • Thorough understanding of Production Orders, Plant Maintenance Orders, Order Types, Bill of Material, Routings, Work Centers etc. and its integration with CO Product Costing
  • Experience in the areas of MRP and Capacity planning
  • Some understanding of Product Costing areas such as Costing run, Settlement Profiles, Costing Sheets, Production Overheads, Work in process, Variances and Settlement
  • Experienced implementor beginning with documenting functional requirements, developing functional specs for program changes, making configuration settings changes, performing testing, conducting system demonstrations and working with users to provide training and testing support

Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum 10 years’ configuration and implementation experience in SAP’s application areas of PP (Production Planning), VC Variant Configuration) utilizing Best Business Practice Methodologies.  Some integration experience with PM (Plant Maintenance), CO-PC (Product Costing Areas of Controlling) is beneficial.
  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in a team lead analyst role
  • Good organizational and presentation skills with good attention to detail required
  • Strong communications and problem-solving skills
  • Advanced Knowledge in Microsoft Office Applications
  • Minimum of 4 full life cycle implementations including blueprinting, configuration, testing, training and post implementation support within the PP, VC functional areas
  • Capability to partner with the process owner organization and key stakeholders on solution design/implementation while guiding designs to achieve best practices
  • Analyze and evaluate requirements for systems solutions that improve business processes and increase productivity
  • Oversee production support responsibilities within area of responsibility making sure adherence to service levels, governance procedures, and documentation standards
  • Prepare detailed functional specifications for development activities including reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer, communication and interaction between various functional organizations and the Information Technology department
  • Proactively participate in the integration between related SAP functions with other Business Analysts
  • Strong integrative cross-module knowledge between Sales, Purchasing, Inventory Management, Variant Configuration, Finance, Production and Supply Chain (SD, MM, PP, VC, FI, CO and WH)
  • Strong ‘people’ skills are essential to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Good understanding of consumer products business model or global models in a consumer products organization
  • Good understanding of various SAP system landscapes
  • Ability to work with multiple priorities in delivery and project organizations
  • Ability to travel 10% of the time  

Education and Training:

  • BS/MS in Business, Engineering, Accounting, Computer Science or others
  • SAP Certification in PP and VC.   
  • PM or CO-PC certification or experience a plus
