The Receptionist is the initial contact person for visitors to the plant site (customers, vendors, etc.) and the initial responder to incoming telephone calls. The Receptionist performs a wide range of support duties requiring a working knowledge of company personnel, procedures and policies. The position requires a pleasant, positive person who can work independently and adjust smoothly to changing situations.
Operates a multiple line telephone system to relay incoming calls.
Greets visitors in a pleasant and helpful manner.
Maintains visitor sign-in and sign-out records.
Maintains C-TPAT requirements for all incoming and outgoing employees, visitors and vendors.
Opens and distributes mail in a timely manner.
Assists HR department with handling of confidential information including background checks and certified mail delivery.
Assists with mailings, faxing, filing, scanning and copying as required.
Ensures reception area is neat and orderly.
Obtains copies of the most recent company literature for placement in the lobby area.
Education and Training:
High school degree or equivalent required.
2+ years experience in an office environment.
1-2 years receptionist experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and database management.
Experience operating a multi-line telephone switchboard desirable.
